This week Lokkilok volunteered at Slush. On Monday got plenty of physical exercise, as a couple of foreign (TAIK) students and myself built lounges, lecture halls, workshop places, etc. into the enormous Merikaapeli hall. The students had made a nice design, with ordinary pallets as the main theme. I think the final result was very nice, and well the effort.
Tuesday and Wednesday I helped in the kitchen/bar making sure there was a constant supply of tea and coffee. In between brews I actually managed to attend some lectures, panels and of course talk to many attendees.
For me most remarkable were the sibesonke startup and the talk about the use of the vast amounts of data generated on the web by Andreas Weigand, ex chief-scientist of Amazon.
